Thru June 6 - Rocketmen - American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. “Sing us a song, you’re the piano man,” and help us celebrate the music of two of pop’s most enduring icons: Billy Joel and Elton John. The AMT Cast and Band, led by piano virtuoso Charles B. Ancheta, will recreate the signature sound of these legendary artists on hits from Tiny Dancer to River of Dreams and everything in between. We’ll reintroduce you to classic characters like Levon and Captain Jack, and reminisce with Brenda and Eddie “at a table near the street, in that old familiar place, face to face...” This show is sure to put you in a New York State of Mind, so Take Me to the Pilot and get ready to blast off for a rockin’ good time with Rocketmen! May 3 - Peter, Paul, and Mary - American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. Folk legends Peter, Paul and Mary return to AMT this spring. Considered the most popular folk group of the 1960’s, this infamous trio has proved to be among the most durable music acts in history. Maybe not so surprising, since Peter, Paul and Mary’s roots run deeper than almost any other folk group in history. During their first ten years, they recorded about one album a year and many of the songs are classics – “Blowin’ In The Wind,” “If I Had A Hammer,” “Puff, The Magic Dragon,” “Lemon Tree,” “Where Have All The Flowers Gone,” “Stewball,” “500 Miles,” “Leaving On A Jet Plane,” and “This Land Is Your Land.” During the 1960’s the times were-a changin’ . . . but over the last 40 years, Peter, Paul & Mary’s commitment to the struggles for social justice have not. That commitment is as strong today as ever. May 7 - National Day of Prayer May 10 - Mothers Day May 16 - Armed Forces Day May 25 - Memorial Day
