Break out your acid-washed jeans and get ready to rock n’ roll as AMT welcomes classic arena-rockers REO Speedwagon to Central PA! Kevin Cronin and the band will bring their rock anthems like “Time for Me to Fly,” “Keep On Lovin’ You,” ” I Can’t Fight this Feeling Anymore,” and “Roll with the Changes” to the AMT stage. This is a show that’s sure to have you singing along to all the great hits!

April 12 - Easter

April 17 - June 6 - Rocketmen - American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. “Sing us a song, you’re the piano man,” and help us celebrate the music of two of pop’s most enduring icons: Billy Joel and Elton John. The AMT Cast and Band, led by piano virtuoso Charles B. Ancheta, will recreate the signature sound of these legendary artists on hits from Tiny Dancer to River of Dreams and everything in between. We’ll reintroduce you to classic characters like Levon and Captain Jack, and reminisce with Brenda and Eddie “at a table near the street, in that old familiar place, face to face...” This show is sure to put you in a New York State of Mind, so Take Me to the Pilot and get ready to blast off for a rockin’ good time with Rocketmen!

April 26 - Clint Black - American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. Clint Black attracts fans of both traditional country singer/songwriters, as well as those with more contemporary country tastes. One of the most popular country artists to emerge out of the 1990s, Clint Black continues to be a crowd pleaser with his traditional country roots and popular appeal. His first single. “A Better Man,” shot to the top of the charts, making him the first new male country artist to debut at number one in 15 years. Black has toured and duetted with Wynonna ("A Bad Goodbye"), and has performed in the Grand Ole Opry. Throughout the '90s, Black racked up more No. 1 hits, including "When My Ship Comes In," "A Good Run of Bad Luck," "Summer's Comin'," "Like the Rain," "Nothin' but the Taillights," "The Shoes You're Wearing" and a duet with wife Lisa Hartman, "When I Said I Do." This is a rare Central PA appearance that you won’t want to miss!

April 27 - The Doobie Brothers - American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. ”You don’t know me ‘cause I’m your brother…” Doobie Brother, that is! Move outta the way ‘cause there’s a “Long Train Runnin’” heading straight for Lancaster, as none other than classic rock supergroup The Doobie Brothers make their long-anticipated debut on the AMT stage. An American staple of rock ‘n roll for over 30 years, among their monster hits are: ”Listen to the Music,” “Black Water,” “China Grove, ” “Jesus is Just Alright,” and “ Takin’ it to the Streets.” Join us for the ultimate classic rock event as these musical legends take the stage at AMT!


2008 April Events

April 4 - 5 - The Oldest Profession - Gettysburg Stage, 157 Lefever Street, Gettysburg, PA, 866-859-5192. Five aging workers in 'the oldest profession' are faced with dwindling clientele for their services, increased competition and aching joints. Even as they find solace in their past and in their present circle of 'associates', they try marketing tricks and tackle life with humor and insight. 8 pm.

April 5 - Capitol Steps - Majestic Theater, 25 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA, 717-337-8200. This political satire troupe is never at a loss for words - but the upcoming election gives the Capitol Steps even more hilarious material than usual. These current and former Congressional staffers are sure to get your vote for topnotch, laugh-a-minute entertainment. 3:00 & 8:00 pm.

April 11 - 13 - Spring Bonus & Pot Luck Dinner - Granite Hill Camping Resort, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA, 717-642-8749. Games, games, and more games! We’ll play Games all weekend. Pot Luck dinner on Saturday night in the Rec. Hall at 5:00 p.m. followed by a dance with DJ John.

April 19 - Recyclable Art Contest Awards Ceremony - Adams County Arts Council, 18 Carlisle St., Suite 201 Gettysburg, PA, 717-334-5006. Exhibit and awards ceremony. Students create works of art using recycled materials. Ag Center. 11:30 am.
